Ozzy Osbourne rushed to intensive care over ‘fears of pneumonia’ after bronchitis worsens

His wife Sharon and their children Kelly and Jack took turns watching over his bed for three days but now the heavy metal legend is reported to be on the mend

ROCKER Ozzy Osbourne was rushed to intensive care amid “grave ­concerns” he could develop pneumonia.

The 70-year-old singer was transferred to a private hospital’s critical facility after his bronchitis worsened.

Ozzy is now said to be on the mend – and has been moved to his own room at the Los Angeles hospital.

A source said: “Poor old Ozzy hasn’t had the best of times.

“He’s been really struggling with flu which turned into bronchitis. Doctors feared he could contract pneumonia which, in a person over 70, can be fatal.

“This sparked a lot of panic among those closest to him, but doctors reassured everyone he was in the best possible hands.

Ozzy’s a fighter, and is getting better day by day. The worst is over, he’s smiling again, and he can’t wait to get up on stage.”

The heavy metal legend is expected to be released later this week, having spent 11 days under doctors’ orders. He was forced to postpone the entire run of his UK and European tour.

In a statement the frontman said: “It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to s**t.”

On Wednesday former X Factor judge Sharon, 66, thanked fans for their “concern and love”.

A spokesman said Ozzy will axe the tour’s Australian leg next month amid fears he will pick up germs on the flight.
