Katie Price’s £1,000 puppy cheats death after escaping her messy mansion and running into busy dual carriageway

The 40-year-old wasn't at home at the time, with a passer-by taking the lucky pooch to the vet

KATIE Price’s puppy narrowly avoided death after escaping from her home and running onto a busy dual carriageway - a year after her previous dog was killed by a car.

The £1,000 Alsatian pup, Bear, hopped a fence near the star’s £2million nine-bedroom Sussex mansion and ran out among speeding traffic.

Luckily, a passer-by stopped and took the terrified mutt to a vet.

It is the same stretch of road - the A24 - where one of Katie’s horses died after escaping from a field in 2017.

The 40-year-old former glamour model is believed to have been in in London at the time Bear escaped.

A source told The Sun: “It’s very lucky he wasn’t hit by a car – it’s a fast stretch of road.

“He got out because the boundary of the property is not secure and the pup went wandering. Another one of her dogs was hit by a Dominos driver and died last year.”

The source added that the vet managed to get hold of Katie through the dog’s microchip.

The vet left Bear with Katie’s next door neighbour where he waited to be reunited with her.

“Katie can’t drive so couldn’t get him herself," said the source.

“The vet was kind enough to drop the dog back to Katie’s neighbour.”

Katie came under fire from fans after getting the £1,000 puppy in November, after she was forced to sell her beloved farmyard animals to raise cash and avoid bankruptcy.

Most of the model’s menagerie was up for grabs including llamas, goats, pigs, sheep and horses.
