Katie Price says son Harvey, 16, is ‘like a 24-stone nightmare newborn’ and is ‘obsessed with her’ as she confirms she IS putting him in residential care
KATIE Price claimed her son Harvey is like a "24-stone nightmare newborn" on today's This Morning as she justified her decision to put him into care at his school.
The 40-year-old admitted she was struggling to cope with the disabled teen, describing him as being "obsessed with her".
She told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford: "He is now six foot two, 24 stone and he's still growing and he kicks off.
"I love him so much, he's my absolute life, but he's just hard work now.
"At his school they do boarding there. It's taken me ages to be convinced it is the best place.
"At least when he's at school, he can do Monday to Friday after school club, I can still go up there and tuck him into bed and have dinner with him.
"[It's] only Monday to Friday. Every weekend and holidays I will have him.
"It's only while he's at school."
Katie revealed the extent of her struggles earlier this week on Victoria Derbyshire's BBC Two show.
Today she said she simply can't cope with her son's mood swings anymore, describing him as "like a nightmare newborn" at night.
The former glamour model said: "Now, because I said about the residential people are saying I am out of order.
"But with Harvey he wouldn’t go to school because I said I had to go to work.
"He actually thinks I’m at the shop getting a carbonara. He hasn’t gone to school because he kicked off.
"At night time, he's like a nightmare newborn. I don't get sleep."
Insisting residential care is the only option, she went on: "It's in place, he's got a place at the school. He was supposed to start Monday. I'm really nervous.
"He's putting on weight. He hasn't been to school for two weeks."
Katie told earlier this week how Harvey's siblings are scared of him.
Harvey, who has Prader-Willi Syndrome, is partially sighted and also struggles with septo-optic dysplasia, which affects his growth.
Speaking on Victoria Derbyshire, his mum turned to him and asked him: "What do you do at home Harv, to mummy's house? What have you been doing that mummy doesn't like?"
The teenager replied: "Smash things."
Katie continued to quiz Harvey and said: "Yes, and how many TVs do you smash?
Harvey answered: "Lots" as Katie added: "And how many iPads?" with her son responding: "Eight".
Katie turned back to Victoria and continued: "He doesn't realise the expense. He is a danger to himself, for the first time ever now I'm thinking he might have to go residential (care) Monday to Friday.
"He knows, if he kicks off in the morning, the driver won't take him to school. He has sussed that.
"And he is missing out on his education because he just wants to be with me. But it is so hard. I haven't got respite. I do it all myself."
"I'm really having to think about it but I hate it because he's my life. The kids can be scared as he's big so I have to think of him. I'm literally on my own as I don't talk to anyone about it, I'm lonely."
