BIRDS of a Feather has been axed by ITV.
The classic sitcom - which stars Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joesph - was brought back by the channel after 16 years off air in 2014.
But now it has been revealed that after three series and two Christmas specials bringing in great ratings, bosses have decided to end the revival.
ITV boss Kevin Lygo told the : "We had success with Birds of a Feather, that was our most successful sitcom in years, but it’s come to a sort of natural end."
The channel boss also opted to end Jack Dee's sitcom Bad Move after two series of it.
He said: "We had two series of the Jack Dee sitcom but I don’t think we’re continuing with it now. It’s just very, very hard."
Lygo added the future of scripted comedy shows on the channel was "quite bleak" but insisted viewers could get their laughs from the soaps.
He added: "Audiences can get their fix of character-based comedy from Corrie."
It comes just a year after long-running sitcom Benidorm was axed after eleven year to the fury of fans.
Show creator Derren Litten confirmed the news on Twitter last year.

He wrote: "Yes folks it's true, after months of speculation, I can finally confirm Benidorm series 10 was the LAST EVER TV SERIES of @BenidormTVshow."
The show returned as a stage show continuation, something Birds of a Feather did before it was revived by ITV.
