Amazon Prime has transformed Hanna into a TV series – here are all the details including cast, reviews, UK release date and trailer

HANNA is Amazon Prime's highly-anticipated new action series that's about to drop in March.

Based on the 2011 movie featuring Queen Of Scots star Saoirse Ronan, the small screen adaptation promises to be even grittier than what fans saw in cinemas, with the plot centring around a thrilling game of cat and mouse reminiscent of The Bourne Identity

The TV series tells the story of an ex-CIA agent who raises his daughter in a remote forest in Eastern Europe and trains her to be an assassin - but they soon find themselves on the run from the secret service as a conspiracy surrounding Hanna's life unfolds.

What are the reviews like for Hanna on Amazon Prime?

Well,m so far so good.

The show currently has an 8/10 rating on IMDB and has received positive feedback from fans on Twitter who were able to watch the first episode for a limited time with an Amazon Prime subscription.

One fan wrote:"@prime omg why would y’all just release ONE episode of #hanna i need it all now!!"

Another added: "I’m watching the first episode of #Hanna on @PrimeVideo. Half-way thru, and I’m kind of hooked."

Series creator David Farr explained he wanted Hanna to be both a "raw-knuckle ride and a deeply touching family drama."

He added: "It has the visceral excitement of a genuine conspiracy thriller but also the simple humanity of a rites-of-passage drama.

"Hanna is in a very unusual family. She’s a very special teenager. But all teenagers think they’re abnormal. She’s just a little more abnormal than most.”

What is the UK release date for Hanna on Amazon Prime?

Annoyingly, s specific release date has not yet been announced for the series.

But it will be available to stream on Amazon Prime at some point in March, 2019.

It is comprised of eight episodes and has been created and written by David Farr who also worked on The Night Manager and Spooks.

The trailer premiered during the Super Bowl on February 3.

Who's in the cast for Hanna on Amazon Prime?

Esme Creed-Miles

The lead role of Hanna is played by Esme Creed-Miles.

The British 19-year-old is the daughter of actors Samantha Morton and Charlie Creed-Miles.

She made her on-screen debut aged seven when she played Shirley Temple alongside her mother in Mister Lonely.

Joel Kinnaman

Joel Kinnaman, 39, is a Swedish actor who plays the role of Hanna's father Eric.

He's previously starred in Netflix’s Altered Carbon as Takeshi Kovacs and also played Governor Will Conway in House Of Cards and Rick Flag in Suicide Squad.

He is married to the Swedish tattoo artist Cleo Wattenström.

Mireille Enos

Joel is reunited with his The Killing co-star Mireille Enos who plays a Paris based CIA agent.

Her notable roles include Karin Lane in the 2013 disaster film World War Z and the lead character in ABC's The Catch.

She is married to actor Alan Ruck who played Cameron in Ferris Bueller's Day Off - they have two children.

Will there be a Hanna season two on Amazon Prime?

At the moment, it's a little too early to tell as the first series is yet to drop.

However, if the first series live up to expectations, it's pretty likely another season will be commissioned.
