Janet Street-Porter is going to star in Neighbours and has just returned from filming in Australia
The Loose Women star has been shooting scenes on Ramsay Street that are due to air in April
JANET Street-Porter has landed a role in Neighbours and will appear in the soap in April, she revealed today.
The 72-year-old told her Loose Women co-stars that she would be taking on more acting after she and fellow panellist Linda Robson popped up in Hollyoaks last year.
She announced: "I am going to reveal now a world exclusive. When I was in Australia I flew to Melbourne and I have a role in Neighbours.
"I am appearing as myself. I have more than one line. I'm not allowed to say more. I spent the whole day on the set."
Janet then introduced footage of her strolling around the famous set in Australia with Stefan Dennis, who plays Paul Robinson.
She explained "Stefan, alias Paul, showed me round. I had to do my lines. I smiled so much, my face was aching at the end of the day."
Most fans were pleased, with one tweeting: "Looking forward to seeing Janet in Neighbours 👍.
"So good to seeing her back today one of my favourite Loose Women. My kind of woman.....no BS 😄"
Another wrote: "Can't wait to see Janet on neighbours wonder what they thought of her."
A third reckoned there was a role she'd be perfect for, posting cheekily: "Janet was cast as the new Mrs Mangel."
