Shipwrecked viewers mock ‘useless’ millennial contestants after show gives them a ready-made hut to shelter in

The show left viewers baffled after 'stranded' islanders were set up with electricity and shelter

SHIPWRECKED viewers have mocked the “useless” millennial contestants after they were given a ready-made hut and electricity.

The island show enraged fans when it launched on Monday night as previous series saw contestants fending for themselves.

Shipwrecked fans were baffled by the ready made huts and snazzy camp

The first episode saw The Sharks and Tigers invited to host a boozy island party as the show veered away from survival and towards titillation.

But people at home branded its new direction a “load of s***e”, with one furious fan pointing out that the stars were even given electricity.

One said: “WTF?! Why is #Shipwrecked just a rip off of that Love Island s***e? They’ve got a hut to sleep in with leccy and everything FFS?! #bringbackoldshipwrecked”

Another noted: “So the old @e4shipwrecked contestants were put on an island and had to fend for themselves. In this series they have an already built hut, ready made fire and loads of tools. Shows how useless the younger generation are ”

And one mused: “Missed the old Shipwrecked so much. Kinda disappointed that they already have a hut and luxuries. The best part about the old one was seeing them build up their camp over time. This is kinda like Big Brother but on a deserted island. I’m hoping it improves.”

The Sun previously revealed that Channel 4 bosses had earmarked Shipwrecked for a “supercharged” return in 2019 after being inspired by the success of Love Island.

And The Sun’s Bizarre column exclusively revealed the 2019 line-up on Sunday, January 20 – and there are models and influencers galore.

After the launch, many viewers said they loved the flirtations and took to Twitter to call the show Love Island without the “fakeness”.

Liv and Chris appeared to kick it off straight away and Holly admitted she’d be up for romance on the island, meanwhile international model Harry described himself as a “single pringle, ready to mingle”.

Other camp members then try to intervene before it gets too nasty.

Speaking about why she was chosen to star on the show, Liv previously said: “I am from a council estate and I have never done anything like this before.
