FANS of TV series Vikings are calling Danny Dyer "a legend" after finding out he is related to Norse king Rollo.
New BBC One show Danny Dyer's Right Royal Family explores the actor's family tree and has traced his bloodline back to Viking times.
The programme follows the 41-year-old EastEnders star as he delves into the lives of his ancestors.
The research leads Danny to discovering that the Viking King Rollo is actually his 35 x great-grandfather.
The news has delighted viewers of the History Channel show Vikings as Rollo (played by Clive Standen in the drama) is an iconic character, who took his Norsemen to France where they settled in new land.
This land eventually became Normandy, with many of Rollo's descendants becoming dukes, one of which is William the Conqueror - who Danny is also related to.
One viewer tweeted: "Danny dyer mate I won’t be able to watch vikings the same knowing that Rollo is your granddad now! You total legend".
A second wrote: "Love that Danny Dyer is related to Rollo off @HistoryVikings", whilst another said: "Danny Dyer knocking around with Vikings is exactly what the world needs more of."
One fan, who was in total disbelief, wrote: "As if Rollo is related to Danny Dyer WTF #Vikings."
Speaking to about his Viking experience, Danny said: "The first relative was a Viking, therefore I went to a Viking village in Sweden.
"For six months of the year there are actually volunteers who live like Vikings, that are obsessed with that whole era.

"They live and breathe it, their kids are running around, there’s something quite noble about no iPads or phones or anything like that."
He added: ‘So I went and spent the day with them, they taught me how to fight, I navigated a longboat, and I had to eat their grub. And their grub was pretty f***ing disgusting."
