Earlier this evening, Piers shared a photo of himself with his GMB co-workers on the red carpet at last night's National Television Awards.

The 53-year-old star is peeking over the shoulders of Charlotte Hawkins, Ranvir Singh Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway, and Laura Tobin in the snap - with the women looking sensational in their glitzy gowns.

He captioned the post: "Proof that we have the hottest show on TV... @GMB⁩ @CharlotteHawkns ⁦@ranvir01 @susannareid100 @kategarraway @Lauratobin1⁩ #NTAs".

Lorraine retweeted the photo, adding: "Stunningly beautiful intelligent women - but who’s that dodgy looking wee fella photobombing them and spoiling the photo?!?"

The trolling of Piers impressed Lorraine's followers, who tweeted the presenter their admiration for her comment.

One wrote: "That dodge looking wee fella is the Incredible Sulk Lorraine.

"You really made me laugh when you said that."

Another joked: "Pretty sure it's that actress from Home Alone 2."

A third tweeted: "There's always one thorn in a bunch of roses."

Piers proved himself to be a good sport as he responded to Lorraine's comment, simply quipping "Charlie Townsend".

NTA Awards - This Morning wins prize for 'Daytime' while the Loose Women and Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan miss out

Charlie Townsend is the boss in fictional film Charlie's Angels; the man who directs the three women's crime-fighting operations.

Piers was at last night's NTAs after Good Morning Britain was nominated for the Best Daytime Show accolade.

The outspoken star was left fuming when they lost out to This Morning, which took home the gong for the ninth year in a row.
