MARK Wright proved he really was a gentleman has he sheltered his wife Michelle Keegan from the rain at tonight’s NTAs in rare public display of affection.
The actress’ protective husband kept her shielded from the elements as they made their way into the prestigious ceremony.
The ultra-private couple are rarely pictured out and about together.
But tonight they made an exception as they helped celebrate the stars of the small screen at this year’s National Television Awards.
Mark and Michelle, both 31, looked as loved-up than ever after tying the knot in 2015.
Former The Only Way Is Essex star Mark shielded his wife of four years from the rain as they hit the red carpet together at London’s O2 arena.
The couple looked glamorous as ever as former Coronation Street star Michelle sported a short and puffy white lace ensemble.
The couple are often apart as they work on different sides of the pond.
Mark is carving out a career for himself as a TV presenter in Hollywood, while Michelle spends most of her time filming in England.
Talking to recently she said: “No one knows how much we see each other because we don’t publicise it.
“People say, ‘Ah, they haven’t seen each other for ages,’ but they don’t know.
“Mark sometimes comes home for a weekend and no one know he’s even there. Over the years we’ve learned how to do that.”
The Sun Online recently revealed that Mark is mulling over moving back to England so that he can spend more time with Michelle.
A source told us: “Mark has asked to leave EXTRA in the USA, as he wants to return to the UK and be with Michelle.
“He is also hosting The Bachelor here next year, and has other UK TV offers which he can’t do if he stays at EXTRA.
“Mark has loved doing EXTRA for 15 months, but feels the time is right to move on.
“But he has a dilemma now, whether to stay and help the sale of the show to a new network or leave and return to the UK.
“He is awaiting permission to leave, but may have to stay until the show relaunches.”
