Stella McCartney’s new men’s range inspired by Beatles film Yellow Submarine includes a shirt with a penis-shaped cloud on the front
The shirt's print also depicts band members Sir Paul, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison in a surreal landscape with film creature Jeremy Hillary Boob
STELLA McCartney’s new Autumn range includes a shirt that is a bit “Hey Rude” as it features a huge penis-shaped cloud across the front.
A model showing off the expensive garment seemed to be oblivious to what was emblazoned across it.
The trendy piece is part of the 47-year-old Stella’s new men's collection.
The outfit, which isn't for sale yet, is completed by a long-sleeved cream turtleneck, smart black trousers and motorcycle boots.
It is one of 34 released and takes inspiration from dad Paul's Yellow Submarine animated film, which was revived for its 50th anniversary last summer.
On the bottom of the shirt Paul, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison are depicted parading through a surreal landscape with bizarre rabbit-like creature Jeremy Hillary Boob, PhD, in tow.
The strange images surrounding the band also featured in the film, which was later made into an album and is illustrated by German artist Heinz Endelmann.
The range, which is also apparently influenced by Savile Row tailors' handiwork, also features a brown tracksuit with John Lennon's face on the front, a bright yellow over coat and a large, grey hooded poncho.
Mum-of-four McCartney launched her label in 2001 and now runs 17 stores internationally.
A fashion insider said: “ What an almighty cock up. I can’t believe anyone noticed before the shirt was printed. The fashion business tends to take itself very seriously but this will bring a smile to the catwalk.”
The vocal animal rights campaigner launched her menswear range three years ago and said dad Paul had inspired its pyjama-like clothing.
She's designed Team GBs' kit for the last two Olympics.
Stella’s reps did not respond to requests for comment.
