Netflix reveal creepy stalker drama You was watched 40 MILLION times in just one month

NETFLIX have revealed that stalker drama You is on track to be watched a staggering 40million times in just one month.

The creepy drama, starring Penn Badgley, only launched on the online streaming service earlier this month – but has proved a massive hit with fans.

The series follows stalker Joe as he attempts to seduce aspiring writer Beck

Taking to their verified news Twitter account earlier today, See What’s Next, Netflix wrote: “Joe isn’t the only one watching: @YouNetflix is on track to be viewed by more than 40 million members in its first four weeks on Netflix!”

The tweet poked fun at the show’s protagonist, Joe – a charming bookstore manager who stalks a customer, Beck, after she enters his shop.

The unhinged character becomes obsessed with the aspiring writer, going to extreme measures to win her heart.

The show is based on Caroline Kepnes’ book of the same name, and originally aired on Lifetime in the US last September.

However, it has won over a whole new audience since being added to Netflix – with the series’ huge success securing it a second series.

In fact, earlier this week, the show’s producer, Sera Gamble, teased that they already have ideas for a THIRD season.

She told : “I will say that we have an idea for season three that is SO exciting that people talk about it in the [writer’s] room everyday.

“So my fingers are crossed… I’ll just say, I hope we get the chance to keep making the show.”

Speaking about what is in store for the upcoming episodes, Sera said: “I can tell you we will see more of Candace and that she shakes Joe to the core with what she brings to the story.”

“And so it propels that character [Joe] a lot in what he decides to do next.”
