Who is in The Punisher season 2 cast, what’s it about and is there a trailer?

MARVEL fans can rejoice as the second season of The Punisher has made its much anticipated return.

The hit show is back with a bang on Netflix. Here's what you need to know...

What is Marvel's The Punisher about?

The Punisher is a Netflix series based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.

In the first season, lead character Frank Castle - played by Jon Bernthal - is a vigilante who fights crimes in New York as 'The Punisher.'

He's known in the Big Apple as The Punisher after he sought revenge for those culpable of the death of his family.

In the second series Frank has been living a low-key existence until he gets involved in solving The attempted murder of Amy Bendix.

He has to decide if he's ready to resume being The Punisher once again.

Who's in the season 2 cast?

The second series - just like the first - will be spread out into 13 episodes with the first airing on Friday January 18th, 2019.

The original cast members will be reprising their roles for the latest season as well as a few new faces:

• Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle or The Punisher
• Ebon Moss-Bachrach as David Lieberman/ Micro, who helps Frank get revenge
• Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Frank's former best friend
• Amber Rose Devah as Dinah Madani, an Iranian-American Department of Homeland Security agent
• Danie Webber as Lewis Wilson, a young veteran turned taxi driver
• Paul Schulze as William Rawlins, the Director of Covert Operations at the CIA
• Floriana Lima will be joining as Krist Dumont
• Giorgia Whigham will play Amy Bendix
• Josh Stewart will join as John Pilgrim.

Is there a trailer?

Netflix released the official trailer for Season 2 on the 10th January.

And the new series looks as bloody and dark as the previous one.

But as is typical they've kept all storylines under wraps and not given much away concerning the plot.
