SPIDER-MAN: Far From Home is just months away from hitting the big screen and Disney have revealed the first look at Marvel's favourite web-crawler.

Peter Parker perished at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War so the first teaser trailer had fans asking a lot of questions about his fate so let's dive in with the full breakdown of what we have learnt...

1. Aunt May is happy Peter is Spider-Man

Spider-Man: Homecoming ended with Aunt May walking in on Peter Parker and discovering his secret identity.

Earlier in the film, Peter had revealed to Tony Stark that he'd decided to keep the news from her because he feared she'd freak out.

Yet it seems in the sequel, the MCU version of Aunt May continues to differ with her older comic-book counterpart as Marisa Tomei's version is seen introducing Spider-Man at a charity event.

She also implores her nephew to take his suit on his vacation and is later shown to have packed it despite Peter claiming that "Europe doesn’t really need a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.”

2. The fate of Iron-Man is left up in the air

Despite being such a heavily supported character during Spidey's first MCU outing, Tony Stark is only mentioned by name during the first teaser trailer.

That trailer showed a broken Iron-Man switching off his helmet as he was stuck stranded in space after Thanos wiped out all Tony's companions but Nebula on Titan.

Tony's man-Friday Happy Hogan resurfaces here but ominously tells Peter "we are all alone", after some rather forced flirting with Aunt May.

It's also worth noting that Happy's giant check is signed by Pepper Potts, not Tony Stark, however, Pepper was placed in charge of Stark Industries years ago so perhaps this isn't a clue to Iron-Man's fate.

3. Is Far From Home a prequel or sequel?

Nick Fury is the main MCU cameo in the trailer, but like Spider-Man, he was also vanquished by the events of Avengers: Infinity War.

According to the trailer, Fury has never met Spider-Man before meaning the two never cross paths in Avengers: Endgame.

Likely to keep fans guessing, the issue date on Peter's passport is also overlooked meaning events could have taken place before the events of Infinity War, which would explain why Peter's reverted to his Homecoming suit and not his Avengers Iron Spider attire.

A nice easter egg is the reveal that MCU Peter was born on August 10, the same day that Amazing Fantasy #15 was published in 1963, introducing the world to Spider-Man.

Producer Amy Pascal has previously revealed that the film"starts a few minutes" after Avengers: Endgame, which was confirmed last year by Marvel boss Kevin Feige.

4. Peter Parker and Mary-Jane Watson

Peter may have been confused by Happy's flirting with Aunty May, but it seems he could use some much-needed advice in the dating area.

In one scene, Peter attempts to compliment MJ by telling her she looks pretty only to be hilariously undercut by the reply, "therefore I have value?"

Homecoming listed Zendaya's character as Michelle before confirming her name as MJ, who in the comics, went by a red-headed actress called Mary-Jane Watson.

She was originally played by Kirsten Dunst in the Sam Raimi trilogy, but it seems Marvel is committed to revamping characters that have been seen before, with MCU MJ much sharper and sarcastic.

The trailer also shows Peter's best friend Ned Leeds find love with Betty Brant, an idea lifted straight from the comics as the two eventually get married.

5. Avengers Tower is being repaired

The Avengers Tower has seen it's fair share of action during its time in the MCU, first decimated by Loki before serving as a major plot-point in Homecoming.

It was the tower's renovation that caused Adrian Toomes to become the Vulture and he was eventually captured after trying to steal supplies from the tower in New York to the new complex.

The tower has now been sold and in the trailer, it can be seen under construction, with rumours that the new owner is anyone from Oscorp to the Fantastic Four.

Thanks to the upcoming Disney/Fox merger, it'll soon be a real possibility that Marvel will get their hands back on some of their most beloved characters and none need more immediate attention than their first family...The Fantastic Four.

When is Spider-Man: Far From Home out?

The new trailer revealed that Spider-Man: Far From Home will hit cinemas on July 5, 2019.

The first teaser shows Peter Parker travelling to Europe with his friends and wanting to just be a regular teenager.

That doesn’t last long, as he’s contacted by Nick Fury, who alerts him to a special mission in Europe and informs him of his duty.

At the heart of the mission is the villain Mysterio, but it’s unclear just who Spidey is dealing with or what exactly Mysterio is up to.
