Roxanne Pallett slams claims she’s struggling for money after taking a break from TV work

ROXANNE Pallett has slammed claims she's struggling for money after stepping away from her TV career.

The former Emmerdale star - who suffered a disastrous stint on Celebrity Big Brother last year when she falsely accused Ryan Thomas of her punching her - has denied reports she needs to "find a real job" because telly work has "dried up".

Her rep told Digital Spy: "Roxanne chose to turn away from any projects and interviews following last summer so she could take some time out in private."

The comment came after a source told OK! magazine that Roxanne is considering a "normal job" but is "still too recognisable".

They told the publication: "Rox knows a TV comeback is not going to happen anytime soon, if ever.

"But eventually she’s going to need to work again and is now thinking about where that next cheque will come from.

"She would like to just get a normal job but she’s still too recognisable for that at the moment so she’s having to be a bit more careful with her spending."

The ex-soap star will make her TV return for the first time tonight in Celebrity Coach Trip - which was filmed just before her appearance in Celebrity Big Brother.

Roxanne, 36, shut down all of her social media profiles and removed herself from the spotlight after the controversial "punch-gate" scandal in last year's show.

The actress hit headlines when she accused Ryan of "assaulting" her, only for the cameras to later reveal she was lying.

The incident prompted more than 11,000 Ofcom complaints and Roxanne later issued a public apology.

One TV interview even saw the star label herself "the most hated woman in Britain" before "going into hiding".
