The Walking Dead reveals most terrifying monster ever as Whisperer leader Alpha is seen for first time

FANS of The Walking Dead have been been introduced to the most terrifying monster in the show's history: The Whisperers' leader Alpha.
New baddies The Whisperers are the biggest threat yet for the survivors and are headed by evil Alpha, played by Samantha Morton.

While viewers have already seen a glimpse of the zombie skin-wearing group, The Walking Dead's official Twitter account has given fans another sneak peek of the frightening vigilantes.
In the teaser, a camera slowly pans up Alpha's body until it reaches her Zombie-skin covered face while her peroxide blonde hair falls loose.
The 11-second trailer is captioned: "Alpha is ready for you, but are you ready for her?"
The nomadic group are a strange gang of survivors who use the skin of zombies to disguise themselves so they go unnoticed by their enemies.

They consider themselves animals and don't want anything to do with humanity or civilisation and welcome the apocalypse as a chance to restore their idea of the "natural order of things".
Alpha thinks the zombie apocalypse is how the world is supposed to evolve and it is believed she will be the downfall of character Rick Grimes who will be leaving later in the season.
The character, which is played by actress Samantha Morton, 41, is said to have terrified the cast and crew on the set of the programme, while filming.

New trailer for season 9 of The Walking Dead reveals conflict is growing between the camps

US television channel AMC released the trailer of the latter half of series nine of The Walking Dead which shows Alpha as a force not to be messed with.
Leading man Andrew Lincoln recently spoke of his feelings towards the character of Alpha at New York Comic-Con, saying: "She's scared the bejeezus out of all the crew, actually.
"Someone was doing an impersonation of a scene that she did, and even that scared me… I was like, 'Oh my God, that’s really scary.'"
The eight seasons of the hit show haven't been short of scary characters.
Some of the most memorable include season three's Gas Mas Walkers, the stricken Bicycle Girl in the very first episode, the Bleeding Eyes Walker in season four and the gross Well Walker in Season two.
The Walking Dead will return on February 10 on AMC in the US and February 11 on FOX in the UK.
