ROXANNE Pallett is contemplating getting a "normal job" after her TV career was dealt a major blow following the Ryan Thomas 'punchgate' scandal in last year's Celebrity Big Brother.
The former Emmerdale star, 36, has kept a low profile since falsely accusing Ryan of her punching her in the CBB house in August.
She stars in the current series of Celebrity Coach Trip, but that was filmed last year and there are no more telly plans in the pipeline.
A source told : "Rox knows a TV comeback is not going to happen anytime soon, if ever.
“But eventually she’s going to need to work again and is now thinking about where that next cheque will come from.
"She would like to just get a normal job but she’s still too recognisable for that at the moment so she’s having to be a bit more careful with her spending.”
In an interview with CBB host Emma Willis after quitting the house, Roxanne called herself the most “hated woman in Britain” and said she was “scared about her future”.
Actor Ryan playfully shadowboxed Roxanne on the show, and despite making minimal to no contact with her, it lead Roxanne to accuse him of beating her.
In her exit interview, Emma told her: “You could have ruined him”.
An emotional Roxanne replied: “It's a lot to deal with. I’m the most hated girl in Britain right now.
“I am scared about the future… I just want to say I’m sorry.
"I needed to come and tell everyone that I got it wrong. I'm human. I made a massive, massive, horrible mistake."
The four minute interview was pre-recorded as Channel 5 bosses decided not to put Roxanne in front of a live audience.
When Emma told Roxanne she had blown things out of proportion, she replied: “How it felt when he did it, it hurt. I can’t prove a feeling, no one can.
“But the more I thought, the more it became heightened. I convinced myself that he meant to do it.”
Emma asked Roxanne why she initially laughed off Ryan's play fighting.
The former Emmerdale star replied that after watching the footage back she understood why the public had reacted in the way they had.
She said: “I saw what every person saw. I don’t blame anyone for thinking 'why did she joke it off?'
'I am more shocked at myself. I need to think about why I used humour when something bothered me in my mind.
"I've asked myself why I didn't I go and confront Ryan.
"I convinced myself that it was done with malice. It wasn't - I know it wasn't now.
"Seeing the footage of Ryan in the Diary Room all distressed... I agree fully and understand with every single person's reaction and perception.
"I would have been the same, if I was at home watching it.
"I believed my own story. I felt genuinely disturbed that he had invaded my personal space. I was wrong, massively wrong."
