Danny Dyer reveals he cringes at his old hard-man roles and is really ‘a sensitive soul’
The EastEnders actor claimed he did shows such as The Real Football Factory for the money and says he's more spiritual than his tough-guy roles would suggest
DANNY Dyer admits to cringing at the acting work that typecast him with a "hard-man image" slamming it as "unfair."
The actor, 41, insisted that despite playing tough characters on screen, he's a "sensitive little soul."
Speaking ahead of the launch of his new history series, Danny about his work on shows including Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men and The Real Football Factory.
He confessed: "There was a reason I done those programmes and it was purely for money.
"It got me a nice little house and stuff, and got one of me kids through private school.
"But I do cringe at that work, not to disrespect it too much, but you know it wasn't really what I'm all about."
Danny added: "I think I got this hard-man image which is unfair. I'm a sensitive little soul really, quite a spiritual man as well."
Fans of the actor can get a weekly dose of Danny when his new historical series starts.
Danny Dyer's Right Royal Family kicks off on January 23 on BBC One and will see Danny learn he's related to a saint.
