'IT'S BEEN 10 YEARS'

Jade Goody’s husband Jack Tweed begs Jeff Brazier to let him see sons Bobby and Freddie after only meeting them once in the last 10 years

JACK Tweed has begged Jade Goody's ex Jeff Brazier to let him see her sons after only seeing them once in the last ten years.

The 31-year-old spoke exclusively to The Sun and revealed how "devastated" Jade Goody would be with how things have panned out since her death.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun's Dan Wootton, Jack revealed how before her death, Jade wanted to Jack to formally adopt Bobby, now 14 and Freddie, 13, as dad Jeff wasn't often around.

He explained: "I brought them up for four years. Jeff only used to be around once a month for the weekend. Jeff wasn't around at the start when she was ill. He didn't even want to pick up the kids. My friends were going to pick them up because Jade would ring them up crying because Jeff was hard work.

"She [Jade] wanted me to adopt the kids, she wanted them to live with me but obviously I said 'I can't, Jeff's their dad and I'm not going to stand in the way'."

After Jade lost her fight to cervical cancer in 2009, Jack turned to the bottle and was even accused of rape, for which he was later cleared, and sent to prison as he was out on licence for a previous offence.

Following Jade's death at the age of just 27, dad Jeff took the boys permanently, as Jack's life spiralled out of control.

"I was a mess", Jack admitted.

"I remember when I got in there [prison] I didn't move for seven days. I didn't shower, I was dirty."

However, Jack has now turned his life around and works hard as a builder from 6.30am every day.

Jack has been allowed to see the kids once since getting clean, but only with other people present.

"My mum and dad was there and Jeff came, too. It was so nerve-wracking. I'd rather seen them on my own to be honest without everyone there because I'm a shy person."

"I struggled with showing my real emotions  when other people were there so it didn't go as well I wanted it to, but it was nice. They're great kids. They've grown up a lot, they remind me of Jade so much. I've given them some pictures they have obviously hadn't seen. And I still talk to them on Instagram every now and again and they still message me."

Jack is now appealing to Jeff to let him be more involved in Freddie and Bobby's life, asking: "What I'd love to do is have my own time with them. And just chat with them for a few hours because we went on so many holidays that no one knows about."

Jack now hopes to finally change the public view of him ahead of appearing on a Channel 4 series, masking the 10th anniversary of Jade's death.
