Lorraine Kelly jokes she’d strangle ‘pain in the bum’ Piers Morgan to death if she worked beside him
The daytime TV star praised Susanna Reid for dealing with Piers on a daily basis, calling her a "saint"
LORRAINE Kelly joked she'd strangle Piers Morgan if she presented alongside him and claimed killing him would be justified.
The daytime telly star has a playful relationship with Piers, whose Good Morning Britain show is aired just before her own eponymous programme, but admitted it would be tough working beside him like his co-star Susanna Reid.
She told magazine: "If I had to sit next to him on the sofa every day I'd strangle him with my bare hands.
"It would be justifiable homicide."
Singling out Susanna for praise, she continued: "Susanna Reid - who does have to sit next to him - is a saint in my eyes.
"She should have a halo above her head. You never know what the b****r is going to say next. But I like to think there's a mutual respect there.
"You can only say the sort of things we say to each other if, deep down, you respect each other. I do think he's interesting to watch, even if he's a pain in the bum."
Last month Lorraine mocked Piers's "small parts" after he moaned about gingerbread men being stamped out.
Piers made a gag live on Good Morning Britain when asked about the decision to swap gingerbread men for "gingerbread persons".

He asked Lorraine: "Your parliament in Scotland, the cafe has banned gingerbread men and replaced them with gingerbread persons - to avoid upsetting people."
She replied: "Oh that's a shame, because you get more gingerbread don't you? If you get my drift."
But Piers hit back: "Are you suggesting you get more parts?" To which Lorraine giggled: "Yes, not if it was a ginger bread man of you."
And the host scoffed: "Wow, Lorraine Kelly and her little spicy gingerbread men!"
