Who is Linda Bassett?
Linda is an English actress known for her work on television and in movies.
She was born in Kent on February 4, 1950, which makes her 68 years old.
The Pluckley native is the daughter of a typist mother and a police officer father.
She was brought up in Pimlico, South London and became interested in acting as a child.
Upon leaving school, Linda started working at the famous classical theatre Old Vic as an usherette and catering manager.
She then went to Leeds University and studied English, but dropped out after a year and joined a local drama group instead.
What television series and movies has she been in?
She made her screen acting debut in 1987 when she played the character Gertrude Stein in American Playhouse.
Linda was quick to make a jump to the big screen, too, playing Janet Swanton in Paris by Night.
Since then, she's been in countless hit series and movies.
From Sense & Sensibility and Twirlywoos, to Calendar Girls (2003), Kinky Boots (2005) and The Hours (2002).
She currently plays Nurse Phyllis Crane in Call the Midwife.

An eighth season of the beloved show kick offed on Sunday, January 13, 2019.
Fans can catch it on BBC One at 8 pm TONIGHT (Sunday, February 10).
Those that miss it can go on BBC iPlayer watch it as it will be made available shortly after its broadcast.
The season will consist of eight hour-long episodes.
The hit series has been renewed until 2020.
