AS if being related to one king wasn’t enough, I can reveal Danny Dyer has unearthed another royal connection.
Two years ago, it emerged the soap hardman is a direct descendent of English king Edward III after he appeared on TV’s Who Do You Think You Are — but his latest regal relation is even more surprising.
Danny also boasts French king Louis IX as his 26th great grandfather — a man so squeaky clean he was even made a saint for his good behaviour.
The history books reveal how the devoutly religious monarch lived like a monk and hated swearing so much that he burned the lips and tongues of those who swore in front of him.
It’s hard to imagine the 13th Century king would be too impressed with his rowdy relative’s antics.
Danny makes the discovery in BBC1’s Danny Dyer’s Right Royal Family — due to be screened on January 23 — which sees the Queen Vic landlord head back in time again to find out more about his royal roots. He takes a trip across the Channel to visit the Sainte-Chapelle cathedral, commissioned by Louis IX and completed in 1248. The royal even modelled himself on Christ by washing lepers and feeding the poor — and whipped himself every day to rid him of his sins.
It would take a hell of a flogging to cleanse Danny of all of his.
A TV source explained: “One royal link was unbelievable but finding another was more than anyone could have imagined — including him. Suffice to say it quickly went to his head and he thinks he’s genuinely part of the aristocracy now.”
And in another sign that Danny’s got a lot to learn before he’s likely to be acceptable in royal circles, the show sees him take a trip past Buckingham Palace.
At least Danny can put his trotters up now — that knighthood is out the window.
Lady Gaga has said sorry for working with R Kelly and vowed to delete their single Do What U Want from iTunes.
She issued a statement on social media yesterday after more shocking allegations of teen sex abuse were made against the rapper in TV docu–series Surviving R Kelly.
The singer wrote: “What I am hearing about the allegations is horrifying and indefensible.
“I can’t go back, but I can go forward and continue to support women, men and people of all sexual identities and of all races who are victims of sexual assault. I intend to remove this song off streaming platforms and will not be working with him again.
“I’m sorry, both for my poor judgment when I was young and for not speaking out sooner.”

Only a fortnight has passed since Miley Cirus tied the knot with actor Liam Hemsworth but it was business as usual as she went back to work this week.

It reached a new peak of No4 in the charts on Friday.
