The producers picked Hertfordshire to be their main location.

From a country house to a court palace, here are the majestic spots they picked.

Hatfield House

The country house was picked as Queen Anne’s home because it fit the director Yorgos Lathimos’ vision of the story.

He valued the imagery of lonesome characters in a huge, empty space.

They shot at the Hatfield House between March 2017 and May 2017.

The Hertfordshire location is set in the Great Park and was built back in 1611 by Robert Cecil who was King James I’s Chief Minister.

The Cecil family has owned the property ever since.

Hampton Court Palace

The royal palace is located in the borough of Richmond upon Thames.

It was built in 1515 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, however after he fell from Henry VIII’s favour, the palace was given to the King.

Today, the royal property is a tourist favourite, with countless people visiting it every day.

Divinity School

Oxford’s Divinity School was also one of the movie’s filming locations.

It’s a beautiful medieval building owned by the University of Oxford.

Built between 1427 and 1483, it is the features an elaborate lierne vaulting with bosses on its ceiling.
