Reese Witherspoon remembers Time’s Up movement in Golden Globes throwback
REESE Witherspoon has paid poignant tribute to last year's Golden Globes' Time's Up protest ahead of tonight's ceremony.
The 42-year-old actress shared a selection of photos from the memorable night, which saw the majority of attendees wear all black in a show of support for the victims of sexual harassment and assault in the industry.
Reese shared photos of herself as well as the likes of Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, and Nicole Kidman - all wearing black gowns.
The star captioned the post: "I will forever remember last year’s #GoldenGlobes, when we stood together in solidarity to fight for equality, parity, safety and inclusion.
"Good luck to all the nominees tonight! And may we continue to celebrate risk takers in our industry and beyond, who challenge status quo and fight for change! #TIMESUP".
Reese was in Big Little Lies at last year's ceremony, missing out on the gong to her co-star Nicole Kidman.
The critically-acclaimed show also took home the award for Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
As well as wearing black as a sign of solidarity with the Time's Up movement, Emma Stone, Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams, Shailene Woodley, Emma Watson, Susan Sarandon, Laura Dern and Amy Poehler each took a female activist as their plus one to last year's ceremony.
Harry Potter star Emma’s guest was Marai Larasi, from British organisation Imkaan. Michelle Williams was accompanied by the founder of the Me Too movement Tarana Burke.
