The Greatest Dancer saw two of the judges take to the stage last night but viewers cringed at Cheryl's moves
CHERYL left The Greatest Dancer viewers cringing last night when she copied Oti Mabuse and stormed the stage to dance with super fan James.
Earlier in the show Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti danced with an act who made it through to the next round.
But when Cheryl, 35, did the same thing and got up to dance along, many fans of the show found her moves "awkward" and viewers were unimpressed.
Last month The Sun reported that rival dance captains Cheryl and Oti's relationship was 'frosty' after they failed to hit it off on set.
Last night, fans took to Twitter to dub Cheryl copying Oti's move "cringe" and "uncomfortable".
But others loved the moment and were in tears watching Cheryl hug the fan.
The former Girls Aloud star was praised for the touching interaction.
Later, viewers were outraged when James got put through to the next stage - and ballet star Yassaui didn't make it through.
One tweeted: "Fancy letting an audience vote when they don't know what they're talking about, the ballet dancer was amazing but because he's not waving his arms to a mixtape they didn't vote for him."
Meanwhile, Cheryl found herself caught in the middle of a ratings war on Saturday night, with ITV furious the BBC "used" her to trap viewers.
The glamorous star appeared on Michael McIntyre's Big Show at 7pm and then on The Greatest Dancer at 8pm - both on BBC One.
According to The Mail on Sunday, she became the channel's "secret weapon" and her double appearance was used in an attempt to thrash ITV's The Voice - which aired at 8pm - in the prime time ratings war.
Sources claimed she was used to "lead in" people at home ahead of the golden hour, and said: "This all seems like a ploy to advertise the fact that The Greatest Dancer is on next. It doesn’t really seem fair.
"It’s all too coincidental that of all the weeks Cheryl would be on Michael’s show, it’s right before her own.
"She has nothing else to promote at the moment apart from The Greatest Dancer."
