Alesha Dixon defends Cheryl and insists she’s ‘Fabulous’ on The Greatest Dancer
ALESHA Dixon has defended Cheryl against criticism she's received for being a judge on The Greatest Dancer, and insists she's "fabulous".
The 40-year-old singer hosts the new BBC dance show alongside Jordan Banjo, while Cheryl, 35, is on the judging panel.
Her position on the Simon Cowell produced show raised a few eyebrows when it was announced, and Cheryl has faced a barrage of criticism.
But Alesha has stepped forward as one of Cheryl's biggest fans, telling The Sun's TV Magazine: "I feel protective of people I care about.
"It's sad, as a woman, I am always going to have another woman's back, and Cheryl and I go way back.
"We really like each other and she is absolutely fabulous on this.
"It's lovely to be working on a show together."
Cheryl is joined by Strictly professional Oti Mabuse and Glee actor Matthew Morrison on the panel, and Alesha can't wait for people to see the show when it starts tonight.
However it's a busy time for the former Mis-Teeq lady, as she is also back filming Britain's Got Talent.
The ITV talent contest will begin auditions this month, with Ant McPartlin returning as co-host alongside Declan Donnelly after taking most of 2018 off to focus on his wellbeing.

Alesha said: "It will be really nice to have Ant back, it's like the family is back together.
"I am juggling both BGT and The Greatest Dancer because I'm filming audition shows for one and live shows for another at the same time.
"It's crazy, but I enjoy that buzz, especially when you're doing something you really love."
The Greatest Dancer begins tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
