The former EastEnders star's daughter has been hailed as a rising star who is set to become a household name after forging a modelling career for herself in America
PATSY Palmer’s daughter Emilia Merkell has scored the cover of the Tatler’s Young Hollywood issue.
The 17-year-old model looks stunning in a casual but stylish outfit in a classic American diner in Los Angeles.
Emelia, who has grown up in the sun-soaked Californian city after her former EastEnders actress mother moved there, can be seen staring straight down the lens of the camera.
Her make-up echoes back to the sixties as she wears a dark jacket over a white shirt teamed with a pair of denim jeans.
She sits back with her legs crossed on the seat in front of her as she wears a pair of towering platform shoes.
The February issue of Tatler features the Young British Hollywood stars taking LA by storm, with Emilia, Vampire Academy actor Dominic Sherwood, The CW actress Maisie Richardson-Sellers and hunky London-born actor Gregg Sulkin appearing on the cover.
The Young British Hollywood issue is a first for esteemed publication Tatler and showcases the stars set to become household names, and also features the LA and Beverly Hills haunts where they can be seen out and about.
Speaking on growing up with a famous parent, Emilia said of her mother Patsy, who is married to Emelia's father Richard Merkell: “I did used to get upset watching her - I thought it was too weird.”
But, after her mother settled into life in the US, Emilia forged a career of her own and admits she feels her roots lie in America.
She said: “I don’t really feel like I lived in England; I was still a baby when I was there. LA is where I’ve spent my formative years.”
While Emilia is currently building her modelling portfolio, she would not rule out a foray into acting like her mother and her 26-year-old brother Carley Palmer Rothwell.
However, in the meantime, Emilia is concentrating on graduating from Malibu High School, where she forged a friendship with supermodel Cindy Crawford’s fashionista daughter Kaia Gerber.
Emelia said: “She was one of my first friends at school, I love her.”
