The actress, who rejoined the soap last January, has had a number of explosive storylines since her character moved back to Walford.

She revealed: "The storylines that they told me about seemed like I was going to have fun with them, which I have been, and am.

"They tell you about the projected [storylines], what's going to happen in the future, possibly for the next year.

She added: "So, I was going to be there for a year, and now I've extended it to be there a bit longer, because I'm having such a good time."

She later explained that she found her job on EastEnders easy to fit around life as a mum, although with the storyline she has at the moment she finds herself very busy.

She said: "You just have to dive into a storyline with complete complete commitment and know that it will end and you get some life back.

"But, while you're doing it you get so immersed that I suppose at the moment I am learning lines very quickly, I am reading scripts like they are page turners because you want to see what's happening next.

"I am fully immersed in it, but there will come a time when I will have a bit of time to go to the gym and do a yoga class."

Tamzin's character Mel is due to marry undercover cop Ray Kelly — already wed to two other women — on New Year’s Day.

Although, according to the actress, her character's revenge on her bigamist husband-to-be Ray is so 'dark', that she's banned her kids from watching it.

The star, who is mum to daughters Florence, ten, and Marnie, six, from ex-husband Tom Ellis, 40, says the girls won’t be watching the scenes as she says the plot is too scary for them.

She admitted: “Well they don’t watch it because they’re young.

“I’m not sure I’d want my children to watch it, if you know what I mean, it’s like a horror, or it’s like the darker side of EastEnders.

“It can be scary. I haven’t seen it but I know when we were doing it I was scared.”
