In a new preview clip, Robbie reveals that after being thrown into a shallow pool he was left needing stitches before heading back out to party with Gary Barlow Mark Owen and Jason Orange
TAKE That have revealed never-before-seen footage of a wild party that left Robbie Williams with a nasty head injury.
Robbie, 44, said he still had a large scar on his head from the accident, which he got after being thrown into a shallow pool during Howard Donald’s 26th birthday party.
The group got back together to mark their 30th anniversary and were filmed by the BBC reminiscing over the years gone by.
In this clip, old footage showing a fresh faced Howard left the boys in stitches as they recalled the bizarre gifts they bought him.
Watching the home video back, Gary admitted he couldn’t believe the band hadn’t been kicked out of the hotel for their wild antics.
At one point, Howard is thrown into a shallow pool and is seen laughing as he sits in the water.
Robbie then recalls the moment he was thrown in a few seconds later, which left him with an enormous gash on his head.
He was taken to a private doctor to be stitched up before he joined Howard, Gary Mark Owen and Jason Orange at a nightclub.
Earlier this month Gary told fans the group they had been forced to cancel a number of dates on their upcoming tour.
The group wanted to tour South America and Australia but family illness means they won't be heading beyond Europe.
He explained:”We had a big ambition next year to do a world tour, but I have actually got an illness in my family and it means I am not going to travel for the next two years extensively.
“I thank my two bandmates who have been so very understanding, but I just have to be at home – I cannot leave.2
In a plea to the group's fan-base, he added: “I didn’t want people getting frustrated that we’re not getting out there. I’m a little stuck at the moment, so please be understanding.”
The announcement came just two weeks after Robbie Williams confirmed he'll rejoin the band on tour next year.
Take That: We’ve Come A Long Way premieres tonight at 7pm on BBC One.
