Cheryl blasted over her dance experience by Jason Gardiner ahead of her new job on BBC show The Greatest Dancer
Jason claimed Cheryl’s family only sent her to the Royal Ballet summer school because her parents wanted to ‘drop her off somewhere for the holidays’ in a blistering new interview
CHERYL'S dance experience has been blasted by Jason Gardiner ahead of her new gig judging on The Greatest Dancer.
The Dancing On Ice star admitted he didn’t know why the 34-year-old had been signed up to the new BBC show alongside Strictly’s Oti Mabuse and Glee’s Matthew Morrison.
Cheryl, who used to be a judge on The X Factor, was unveiled as part of the news series’ line up earlier this year.
When asked about BBC bosses’ decision to get Cheryl on board, Jason called it "questionable" and quipped: “What’s her dance background?”
And referencing Cheryl’s attendance at the Royal Ballet’s summer school as a teenager, the 47-year-old added: “She went to Royal Ballet school that you pay for, an extortionate amount to go to because Mum and Dad just want to drop you off somewhere for the holidays.”
Jason isn’t the only one who’s not keen on Cheryl’s place on the show.
Oti Mabuse and Cheryl also struggled to hit it off, according to insiders who told The Sun the atmosphere between the two was “frosty”.
A source said: “Cheryl arrived with such an air of superiority — a few of the crew thought she was being a bit of a diva.
“Oti has years of dance competition experience alongside Strictly where she’s been massively popular with fans.

“But she has absolutely no ego at all.
“They didn’t seem to gel and it was pretty uncomfortable.”
Oti later insisted the pair were getting on well and said that Cheryl was “caring” towards her behind the scenes.
Speaking to her fans, she added: “If anything I feel privileged and honoured to even be picked to share the same panel as you.”
