Jeff Brazier reveals his family Christmas is all about Jade Goody nine years after her tragic death

Speaking to his fans in a video posted on Twitter, the 39-year-old also praised Jade’s creativity and revealed the measures she would go to in making sure their sons, Bobby, 15, and 14-year-old Freddie, had the best Christmas’ possible

JEFF Brazier has revealed his family’s Christmas is centred around his sons’ late mum Jade Goody – almost a decade on from her death.

The 39-year-old has two sons, Bobby, 15, and Freddie, 14, from his relationship with the reality TV star, who died following a battle with cervical cancer in 2009, aged just 27.

Jeff, who retrained as a counsellor following Jade’s death, opened up about how they remember the boys’ mum when asked by his followers how to cope with grief during the festive season.

In a video posted on his Twitter page, Jeff explained: “It took two Christmases to work out that it didn’t matter how many presents we had under the tree.

“If we didn’t recognise their loss then it felt like there was an elephant in the room.

“We make the day about the loss first and foremost, their mum and make it about the occasion secondary to that.

The TV star, who has now retrained as a counsellor, also praised Jade for the efforts she would go to during the festive period“My children want to celebrate Christmas but it’s just different. But it’s OK that it’s different.”

Jeff also praised Jade for the effort she went to in ensuring their boys had a magical Christmas.

He said: “I was never as good at Christmas as Jade was.

“She went to extreme measures. She made fake footprints in the snow. It’s not something I would go to that length to do because I’m not as creative as Jade was.”

Jeff was praised by his followers for his honesty and he admitted that since Jade’s death there had been “a gaping big hole in our family”.

The TV presenter still has “monthly discussions” about Jade with his sons and said it helped with the grieving process.

He explained: “You might think ten years later it’s surely going to be calming down a bit and they’ll be used to it and it’ll cause them less pain.

Jeff continued: “You know you love your children. But what happens when the unknown starts to present itself? What do you do when they’re crying for their mum?

“What do you do when they’re being naughty because they’re upset about losing their mum?”
