EXCITED Masterchef: The Professionals fans cried tears of happiness as 25-year-old Laurence Henry was crowned the winner of the BBC Two cooking show earlier this evening.
The Nottingham-based chef beat competitors Dean Banks and Oli Martin after impressing judges Marcus Wareing, Gregg Wallace and Monica Galetti with his three-course meal.
In tonight's finale, viewers watched Laurence serve up hand-dived scallop with marinated cherry tomatoes, roast tomato dashi, strawberries and coriander oil seasoned with sansho pepper to start.
For the main he prepared loin and belly of suckling pig with a kimchi glaze and braised fermented hispi cabbage hearts, Nashi pear puree and sliced pears.
Finally, for dessert, Laurence made an aerated mint white chocolate, lemongrass and coconut ice cream, with passion fruit ripple and caramelised white chocolate crumb.
And his delicious-looking efforts made him a worthy winner for the show's fans - with many getting emotional as Laurence was announced the champion.
One wrote: "OMG YESSSS!!! WELL DONE LAWRENCE!! I'm literally crying!!"
Another added: "Laurence, from sous chef to MasterChef congratulations lad - well deserved!"
A third tweeted: "Wow, that's a first. @MasterChefUK actually awarded the title to a worthy winner, rather than the one that made the least mistakes!"

Speaking on the show, Laurence said: "I'm still in shock to be fair, it feels incredible."
Judge Gregg added: "For a chef so young he is an immense talent.
"He has a hunger for knowledge and he is willing to push himself until he accomplishes greatness."
Laurence currently works as a junior sous chef for Sat Bains in Lenton Lane, a British restaurant with two Michelin stars.
