Strictly’sTess Daly reveals husband Vernon Kay has BANNED her from buying clothes for him at Christmas
STRICTLY'S Tess Daly has revealed her husband Vernon Kay has banned her from buying him clothes at Christmas .
The Strictly Come Dancing host had to squeeze in some last-minute shopping after the Strictly finals last weekend.
Tess has talked about the perils of shopping for men as she revealed her husband TV star Vernon has banned her from buying clothes for him.
Speaking to the Sun Online, stunning TV presenter Tess, 49, said: "Men are the hardest to shop for. I did have a list from Vernon and he said, 'Well, don't buy me any more clothes please.'
"That's because I end up buying him some closed shirts and shoes, and he's like 'no, I don't need any more of them thanks very much.' So I've switched now, probably something to do with golf. "Men love boys toys, mini drones, anything that flies. So I'm still looking. Men are difficult to shop for. We need an app for them that leads us in the right direction."
Tess and has been married to Vernon for 15 years and she hinted their marriage survived the texting scandal with Rhian Sugden because of the "good times" with their two daughters.
Tess is getting ready for a very festive Christmas in her household with Vernon, 44, and their daughters Phoebe, 14, and Amber, nine.
She said: "We will probably have nine people, we'll prep the veg the night before because on the day I don't like missing out on the fun and the party games, and present opening. Kids love routine.
"My kids love Christmas... 'Mum we will have carols, we will play with Grandma, we will have roast turkey and Brussels sprouts.'
"I say 'but you hate Brussels sprouts' ... and they say 'but I love them at Christmas.' "
Recalling her Christmas kitchen nightmare one year, she said: "I love Christmas, it's my favourite time of the year.
"Apart from a few years ago when we had a power cut, just before the turkey was about to go in the oven.
"The electricity went off for about four hours.
"I was literally speed dialling all local pubs and restaurants and they were all fully booked. So that was fun. We lit all the candles and hoped for the best. It was the finest moment of Christmas when the lights came on and Christmas was saved. The turkey dinner was served. A little later than usual."

There's one tradition that won't be broken - watching the Strictly Christmas Special.
Tess said: "The Christmas Day special will be brilliant this year. We've already filmed that - it will be such a great show. It's a really good line-up - Caroline Flack's competing who was 2014 champion, and Aston Merrygold who went out of the competition too early in everyone's opinion - he's amazing because he can do backflips and tricks.
"Jake Wood from EastEnders, he's back with those snake hips, and Ann Widdecombe - Ann and Anton on the floor. So lots of funny moments."
Tess Daly was speaking at the launch for StorySign – a new App developed by Huawei to help deaf children learn to read with their parents and enjoy the magic of story time together.
