COURTENEY Cox and her Friends co-star Tom Selleck bumped into each other at a bar in New York last night.

The actors played love interest Monica Geller and Richard Burke on the hit sitcom during the mid-90s.

Fans of the comedy series will remember Richard as Monica’s much older boyfriend, a divorced ophthalmologist who was friend of her parents Jack and Judy.

Although Richard made a brief cameo in the later seasons, Monica ultimately married pal Chandler Bing and had twins via surrogate.

And while it wasn’t meant to be for their two characters, the Hollywood stars looked delighted to have bumped into each other by chance in the Big Apple.

The impromptu meeting was captured by US comedian Claudia Oshry, who shared the incredible reunion on her Twitter with the captioned: “Spotted in NY: Dr. Richard Burke and Monica Geller saying hi to one another.

In the video, Courteney, 54, is taken by surprise when Tom, 73, comes up to greet her while she’s sitting at a bar.

The Cougar Town star gives the original Magnum PI actor a hug.

The video comes days after Jennifer Aniston revealed the real reason a Friends reunion is not happening – the male stars are putting a stop to it.

On The Late Late Show with James Corden, : “The girls say we would always love to do it again and the boys are a little less excited about it for some reason.”

She jokingly added: “And so, we’ve decided that we’ll just do a remake of The Golden Girls in 40 years…What if we’re Rachel, Phoebe and Monica as, just, Golden Girls?”

Friends director Kevin S Bright was in talks with the cast about bringing them back to film together again earlier this year but they couldn’t all come to an agreement.

He told the : “A group of 50-year-olds hanging out in a coffee shop would be pathetic. If we did come back it would be the same characters but it wouldn’t be the same show.

“They’re at different places in their lives, potentially divorces, and so we just feel like letting them go off into the sunset is one of the things which keeps them going in people’s minds.

“Wondering what they do, did the marriage last and what did the kids grow up to be like. I think that’s best left to the audience.”
