Rolling Stones star Keith Richards reveals he’s cut back on booze as he’s ‘fed up’ with it
The music legend decided to slow down on the booze about a year ago saying he 'pulled the plug on it' as he 'wasn't feeling right'
ROLLING Stones hellraiser Keith Richards has cut back on booze, saying: “I got fed up with it.”
The guitarist, 75 next week, decided to slow down about a year ago.
He said: “I pulled the plug on it.”
Richards admits indulging in “a glass of wine occasionally, and a beer”, but much less than before. He added: “It was time to quit. Just like all the other stuff.”
“I wasn’t feeling right. I’ve done it. I didn’t want that any more.”
In the same interview for Rolling Stone magazine, bandmate Ronnie Wood, 71, said of Keith: “He’s much more mellow — open to more ideas.

“Before, I’d grit my teeth and go, ‘He’s gonna give me some s*** for saying this’. Now, he’ll say, ‘That’s cool, man’.”
Richards founded The Rolling Stones in 1962 alongside Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts and Ian Stewart. Wood joined in 1975. The band's current line-up is Richards, Jagger, Wood and Watts.
They are due to set off on the North American leg of their No Filter tour, which kicks off in Miami in April next year.
The Rolling Stones are considered one of the most successful and influential musical acts ever.
