How old is Paul Heaton? What's his background?
Paul Heaton, 56, was born in Bromborough, Cheshire.
The singer-songwriter formed The Housemartins after moving to Hull in 1983.
The band featured Stan Cullimore on guitar, Ted Key on bass (who left and was replaced by Norman Cook) and Hugh Whitaker on drums.
They released two studio albums London 0 Hull 4 and The People Who Grinned Themselves to Death.
Their only UK number one was an a capella cover of Caravan of Love, originally by Isley-Jasper-Isley.
After The Housemartins split Paul formed The Beautiful South in 1988 with Dave Rotheray on lead guitar, former Housemartins roadie Sean Welch on bass, David Stead on drums and former Housemartins drummer Dave Hemingway.
In 1990 they had a number one with the single A Little Time.

The Last King Of Pop is a compilation album released in November 2018.
It features 23 songs including Paul's hits with The Housemartins, The Beautiful South and his solo tracks with Jacqui Abbot.
These include Don't Marry Her (The Beautiful South), Flag Day (The Housemartins) and Real Hope (Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot).
Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot will be performing the album at Edgeley Park Stadium in Stockport on June 21, 2019.
