STRICTLY Come Dancing fans were not impressed by Ashley Roberts this weekend after the star looked very unhappy to have landed in the bottom two in the BBC ballroom dance contest again.
The former Pussycat Doll, 37, has been near the top of the leader board on the show on a number of occasions but, when she found herself in the dance off in recent weeks, she burst into tears.
And despite successfully making it through to this coming weekend’s series final, her feelings appeared to be written all over her face.
Referring to Ashley’s dance experience from her days in her pop group, one Strictly fan tweeted a picture of the seemingly unhappy star, writing: “When you can’t possibly understand why you’ve been in the dance off when you’re a professional dancer with years of experience.”
Another viewer wrote: “lol, that was the sulkiest finalist face I’ve ever seen just then from Ashley, just after they said next week it’s the viewers’ votes alone that count #Strictly.”
One other Strictly fan remarked: “Ashley’s face at the end says exactly why people aren’t voting for her. That look could have killed the others.”
And another member of the audience at home posted: “The look on Ashley’s face at the end of the show, so dejected, the public can be so cruel!
“Best dancer by far, and yes I know she’s had previous experience. But so has Faye [Tozer] #Strictly.”
The singer recently defended herself following her on-screen tears when she ended up in the bottom two on the show.
The American warbler was seen crying live on television as she was given the devastating news.
But, during an appearance on spin-off show It Takes Two with her professional partner Pasha Kovalev, Ashley spoke out about her feelings.
Explaining how she felt being in the dance off multiple times, she told host Zoe Ball: “Everybody’s working so hard and we’ve gotten so far in this competition.
“We’ve put our guts, our sweat, our heart out on that dance floor every Saturday night and I think it just hits me because I don’t want to let Pash down.
“I also just want to go out there and do the best that I can.”
She added: “It is tough, you’re standing there not knowing what’s going to happen and when the light goes red you feel a bit deflated and then you look at each other and you go, ‘Alright, we gotta do this.”
Pasha told her: “You are doing the best that you can. I think that it’s just because it’s so personal.
“You really want to do well and you really want everyone to like and appreciate it, and enjoy it.”
As host Tess Daly consoled her, Ashley admitted: “I just care, we work hard and I really want to be here.”
Behind the scenes, Ashley has been in “floods of tears” as she thinks show viewers don’t want her to win because of her dance training prior to the show.
The revealed Ashley told friends: “They don’t want me here.”
An insider told the publication: “Ashley feels she is not wanted on the show and it is terribly sad for her.

“She is particularly upset because she wasn’t the one who went to the BBC, begging to be signed up for Strictly.
“They approached her, knowing full well what she had done in the past. This has been so sad for Ashley. Imagine going to work when people don’t want you there.”
