Who's in the Game of Thrones season 8 cast?

Here are the cast who returned for this series.

Peter Dinklage

Peter, 49, returned to the series as the beloved Tyrion Lannister.

At the end of last season, he tried to persuade Cersei to become allies with Daenerys and Jon Snow, and although she agreed, she later revealed that it was a lie.

He then advised Daenerys not to destroy King's Landing - which she did anyway. Now we have to see what Tyrion does about the Mad Queen.

Lena Headey

The Bermuda-born actress returned as Cersei Lannister.

We last saw her lie to her brother Tyrion about being allies before revealing that instead, she plans to use the Golden Company of Braavos to secure her hold on Westeros.

And we also saw her die in the arms of  her twin brother/lover Jamie as the Red Keep collapsed on them.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia is back as the platinum blonde haired Daenerys, the mother of Dragons.

Season 7 dramatically saw her get intimate with Jon Snow, who happens to be her relative as the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen - making him an heir to the Iron Throne.

And season 8 saw the plot for her decent into the Mad Queen go down.

She succeeded in her mission to game control on the realm - but did so by killing thousands of innocent people in the process.

Kit Harrington

Kit is back as the beloved Jon Snow and fans will make sure to pay extra attention to him now that they know he is an heir to the Iron Throne.

He was seen reacting in horror as his loyalty to Dany saw him play a part in the destruction of King's Landing.

Though Dany has the "throne" now, it looks like Jon might still have to buck up and live up to his title as the true heir for the good of the realm.

Sophie Turner

Sophie's character Sansa made a return to the season.

Speaking to  she said: "This season she is very, very self-assured. She knows what she wants. She knows what she stands for.

"She knows who she wants to be around. She faces threats to that this season. But, well, we'll see how that goes."

With everything that's gone down, it seems very likely that Sansa will get her wish and become the Queen of the North.

Maisie Williams

In season 7 Maisie's character Arya, executed Littlefinger.

With there being numerous left on Arya's "To-Kill" list, the very last season of Game of Thrones has seen her end the life of the Night King.

She didn't get to kill Cersei Lannister  but there is a chance she might be the one to end Dany's life.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

The better-loved half, and brother, of Cersei finally had enough of her wicked plans and schemes.

After hearing that she had lied to their brother Tyrion about being allies, Jamie deserted her and started heading North.

However, he couldn't stay away from his sister and returned to her side while Dany destroyed the city.

They died in each other's arms along with their unborn baby.

Isaac Hempstead Wright

Isaac's character Bran Stark has become an exceptionally pivotal character that knows and sees all that has happened and will happen.

That means, for all we know, Bran already knows how the Game of Thrones will conclude.

Some fans had theorised that he is the Night King which didn't come true. But time will tell what other role Bran has to play in the final episode.
