Iain Lee calls Nick Knowles ‘a player’ and tells Susanna Reid she’s ‘too old’ for the I’m A Celebrity star
IAIN Lee jokingly called Nick Knowles "a player" as he teasingly told Susanna Reid she is "too old" for the I'm A Celebrity star.
The radio DJ made hilarious references to the TV presenter's love life on Good Morning Britain earlier today.
Last night, the DIY SOS presenter, 56, was slammed by fans for making a "sexist" remark about the female camp mates being "jumpier" on their period as he refused to touch their knickers in the jungle.
Speaking to Susanna, 47, and co-host Ben Shephard, 43, about the incident, Iain, 45, joked about Nick's colourful love life.
He said: "Nick Knowles saw a pair of pants on the floor and surprisingly for Nick - because we know he's a bit of a player..."
Susanna gasped: "Oh! Is he?"
Kate Garraway, 51, added: "Oh Reid."
Of Nick - who was married to Jessica Rose Moor until 2016 - Iain told Susanna: "Of course he is. You wouldn't know you're too old for him. I say that with love and respect to everybody involved."
Laughing, she asked: "What's his target?"
As Ben tried to change the suspect, Iain said: "Kate help me out here?"
Kate said: "I know what you're talking about. Course he is."
It comes as Nick was quick to bring up the girls' menstrual cycle after things got heated in camp.
He told John Barrowman: "Remember the girls are going to be a bit jumpier because of what time of the month they told us it is.
"We’re going to have that for a couple of days with the girls."
John nodded and later said in the Bush Telegraph: “Tensions are a little high today that’s why I am just doing this” and acted out zipping his mouth.
It came after Rita Simons voiced that there was not enough rice being cooked for lunch, after admitting it was her time of the month.
Nick's comment left some I'm A Celebrity fans furious, with one saying: "Men: When a woman speaks out about something she is unhappy about, do NOT brush it off or dismiss it as ‘time of the month’ - having a period does not invalidate our argument or feelings. Nick Knowles take heed. #imaceleb."
Someone else said: "@imacelebrity Yes Nick Knowles.... It's not that they're tired and hungry like you men, the ladies must be "tetchy" because they are having periods?! #pinitontheperiod #imaceleb."
Another said: "Oh Nick!! I loved you but blaming a woman speaking out because she’s on her period isn’t it Chief #ImACeleb."
