Father Of The Bride’s Kimberly Williams-Paisley is all grown up as star of Netflix’s Christmas Chronicles alongside Kurt Russell

We're not trying to make you feel old, but the daughter from the hit Steve Martin movie is now nearly 50 - and starring in a mega-budget new festive movie

FATHER of the Bride star Kimberly Williams-Paisley played the daughter who drove Steve Martin mad in the iconic Nineties movie - but in Netflix's new seasonal spectacular, she's the parent.

Kimberly has joined a top cast in The Christmas Chronicles, the mega-money new festive film where she stars alongside Kurt Russell's sarcastic Santa Claus.

The 47-year-old shot to fame in the Father Of The Bride movies as Annie Banks, who returns from travelling Europe to announce to incredulous dad Steve that she's marrying a guy called Bryan she met three months ago.

It was such a success that the comedy raked in more than £70 million - more than four times what it cost to make - with a sequel where Annie gets pregnant proving almost as successful.

Kimberly had limited movie success in the intervening years, though The Christmas Chronicles, which is from the makers of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Home Alone, looks set to be a smash.

It sees her play mum to teen Teddy (Judah Lewis) and 10-year-old Kate (Darby Camp).

She goes out to work on Christmas Eve, leaving her children to blunder into the path of Father Christmas.

And when Santa's sleigh crashes, the children team up with Kurt's danger-loving Santa and pull an all-nighter to save Christmas.

That takes them on a Christmas Eve adventure that sees Santa steal a car - and end up fleeing the police on reindeer.

The movie is available to watch on Netflix now.
