JUNGLE producers are hoping the spark between campmates Emily Atack and Nick Knowles will ignite a full-blown romance.
Bosses on the ITV show chose the glamorous Inbetweeners star, 28, for this year’s series with DIY SOS host Nick, 56, in mind — given his history of dating much younger lovers.
The dad of four has previously romanced Emmerdale actress Gemma Oaten, 34, and model Pascal Craymer, 31. His ex-wife Jessica Moor was 25 years his junior.
Emily, best known as Charlotte “Big Jugs” Hinchcliffe in The Inbetweeners, has had high-profile boyfriends including pop stars Harry Styles, 24, and Dougie Poynter, 30.
She and Nick have already had several flirty moments in the camp. In their Dingo Dollar challenge they were giggling like schoolkids.
A source said: “Producers think Nick and Emily getting together would make good telly.
“Nick has a type and Emily fits the bill. And she hasn’t minded a famous boyfriend in the past. Everyone is watching closely and hoping for a proper spark.
“They’ve had a couple of moments on screen that producers thought was a good sign. They’re seeing how things develop.”
Tensions between new camp emperor Nick Knowles and former leader Noel Edmonds ran high as they clashed over campfire rules.
When Nick reprimanded Noel, 69, for abandoning the fire, he retorted: “God forbid I get an endorsement on my celebrity licence.”
