MEL B's late dad took his last breath after she told him she would 'go and divorce the monster' Stephen Belafonte.
The Spice Girl made the shocking revelation on Loose Woman today while talking about her abusive marriage.
Mel revealed her dad dying was the "moment she snapped" and knew she had to divorce Stephen Belafonte.
She told the Loose Women panellists: "I whispered it in his ears…OK dad it’s fine to go now - because there was no returning back from his illness – I said when you take your last breath I’m going to go and divorce the monster and he looked at me and took his last breath.”
Scary Spice had revealed that she'd been reluctant to act while her father was still alive, saying: "My dad was already was suffering with a really bad illness. There was no way he was going to come back from it so my dad was going to die.
"So in the few years left I cannot do that to him with all these tapes and the knowledge of what happened in my marriage - I couldn’t do that.
"In my mind it was going to speed up his illness and I couldn’t do that to him."
The mother of four revealed that she returned to work on the US X Factor, and Simon Cowell commented on how happy she looked despite her father's death and rumours of a divorce.
She replied: “My dad’s in a better place with no more pain and I know what I’m coming home to because I’m going to divorce this guy and that’s it.
"And I set the wheels in motion, I got a restraining order, I separated and it will be two years in December that I’ve not been with that person.”
Mel's candid confessions came just hours after she lashed out at Susanna Reid when she read out her ex-husband's denial that he hit her live on Good Morning Britain.
The Spice Girl looked visibly angry as she told Susanna and her co-host Piers Morgan that broadcasting his response to her domestic violence claims after her interview "shouldn't be allowed".
Last year the pop star divorced the film producer, 43, after ten years of marriage, and has since exclusively spoken to The Sun about the "abuse" he subjected her to.
After the interview in which they discussed Mel's new autobiography Brutally Honest, Susanna said: "It's been lovely to talk to you. We have to read a right of reply.
"Mr Belafonte has told us there are new litigation plans and he will be answering the allegations in full, which he denies."
As she read out the statement, the star could be heard off-camera gasping: "Oh god. Don't want to hear that."
Mel B added: "You shouldn't do the right of reply. He shouldn't have a have a platform to do that."
Piers suggested: "Well when he replies, you can reply again."
Mel said: "No! Why would I? Why would I get into a spat like that?"
Piers said: "Unfortunately we had to do that, whether we wanted to or not. And I didn't want to. I'm with you on this. Team Mel. Team Scary."
It came as one of Mel B's ex-lovers has voiced concerns that she'll never find love again after the breakdown of her toxic marriage to Stephen.
Mel filed for divorce from Stephen in 2017 citing 'irreconcilable differences' after nearly ten years of marriage.
The couple's marriage was plagued by rumours of abuse, controlling behaviour and infidelity.
