JAMES McVey abseils down a terrifying vertical rock face in the first look at tonight's Bushtucker Trial.

Let's hope the Vamps' guitarist doesn't suffer from vertigo as he is tested to the limits in this evening's show.

In a preview of the trial, James, 25, can be seen scaling the terrifyingly high rock face.

At the beginning of the clip the teenage heartthrob and fellow campmates Rita Simons, 41, and John Barrowman, 51, can be seen in the middle of the Outback looking for a sign of their next task before realising it is the massive cliff that stands in front of them.

After reaching the abseiling starting point, John asks: "Who wants to go first?"

James gallantly replies: “I’ll give it a go first mate because then I can get down and give you a heads up.”

After getting tied up, John rather unhelpfully looks at the steep incline and remarks: “Is this an actual cliff? Yes it is… Oh my God.”

James can be seen bravely preparing to make his way down as Rita is heard reassuring him, saying: "James you've got this."

But viewers will have to wait until tonight’s episode to see what happens on the Bushtucker Trial.

Jame's brave undertaking comes after he angered viewers last night when he called the public "d**ks."

The Vamps star was annoyed they voted Nick Knowles to be the new camp leader and voiced his irritation in earshot of the cameras.

It kicked off after former camp deputy Harry Redknapp cosied up to Nick following his appointment, and said: "I always knew I liked you Nick!"

But Nick picked Anne Hegerty to be his deputy, and she said: "I'm absolutely delighted. I think it may be because I spend a lot of time sitting around doing nothing.

"Perhaps it makes a bit of sense for me to be officially allowed to sit around and do nothing."

James, 24, congratulated her, as someone else pointed out that Nick can't cook anymore because of his new position.

Seemingly hitting a nerve in the singer, James said: "The public have done it not to be nice, but to be absolute d**ks - because they know that Nick cooks everything, Nick does everything for us.

"They're doing it to throw a spanner in the works."

And Emily Atack groaned: "Nick does so much for us."

His remark rubbed fans up the wrong way and one said: "The Public are been d**s”.................. James endearing himself to the Great British public lol!!!"

Another said: "I dont think calling the public d**ks james is gunna do you a lot of favour.s"
