I’m A Celeb winner ‘will have to hand over a third of their earnings to the show’ when they leave the jungle

THE winner of this year's I'm A Celebrity will be "forced to hand over 30 per cent of their earnings to ITV" after the show.

The Jungle King or Queen can reportedly earn millions from their appearance but according to the Mail On Sunday, ITV will be taking a cut.

The publication reported that the "standard" ITV contract allows the network to claim a third of the winners earnings.

An insider said: "The earnings clause, which is in force for 45 days following the end of the show, applies to public appearances, contracts and endorsements."

Last year's winner, Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, was reportedly paid £13,000 for her appearance in the Australian jungle.

But her agreement reportedly allowed "ITV's auditors to pore over her books" following her win.

The Sun Online have contacted ITV for comment.

One unnamed agent commented last year: "This is as unfair as it gets."

At the time The Sun Online reported how the former reality star would be in line to make £1million through TV deals, fashion lines and other endorsements.

Top PR guru Mark Borkowski told us how Toff would be "snapped up" by companies to be the face of their brands.

She has since gone on to present segments for This Morning, written her own book, Always Smiling: The World According to Toff, and hosted backstage coverage for the National Television Awards.

The report suggested that this year's winner will be subject to the same contract clause and risk their financial gain should they go on to sign new deals in the weeks following the show's final.

Despite the reported clause, 2016 winner Scarlett Moffatt saw her career sky rocket in the days following the show's finale.

She subsequently landed presenting jobs on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and I'm A Celeb spin-off show Extra Camp.
