Doctor Who

BBC One  - New Year's Day at 7pm

Doctor Who fans won't have their usual Christmas Day fix this year, instead it will be on New Year's Day.

Luther

BBC One - January 1, 2, 3, 4 at 9pm

The hotly anticipated fifth series of Luther starring Idris Elba will kick off on New Year's Day.

A teaser trailer put out by the BBC in early November showed the detective facing a gruesome interrogation at the hands of George.

However, Luther turns the tables on his captors in typically stylish fashion.

Mrs Brown's Boys

BBC One - January 1 at 9pm

The festive season arrives once again in the Brown household, and Father Damian has organised a Christmas decoration contest to support the local football team.

In the second instalment of the Christmas Special, called Mammy’s Motel, Winnie and Sharon are forced to move in with Agnes after pipes in their house burst.

Channel 4

 The Great New Year Bake Off

Channel 4 - New Year's Day at 7.40pm

Part 2 of the Bake Off Christmas specials. For those that missed the festive special, it's available to catch up with right now on All4.

It features the likes of 2017 stars Liam Charles and Flo Atkins, as well as 2016's Jane Beedle and Andrew Smyth.

The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited

Channel 4 - New Year's Day at 9pm

Simon Bird, James Buckley, Joe Thomas, and Blake Harrison are back for a Christmas special to mark the show's tenth anniversary.

The documentary will feature special guests and unseen footage.
