Despite his limited vocabulary, the pink and yellow spotted character was famous across the country – but have you ever wondered who Mr Blobby actually was?
Who played Mr Blobby?
Although we would all like to think Mr Blobby is real and he lives with Noel Edmonds' in Crinkly Bottom, he was actually played by an actor called Barry Killerby.
He played Mr Blobby from 1994-1998.
Fans of the 90s kids show ChuckleVision might recognise him, because he was also a semi-regular actor on the show.
He's also a Shakespearean actor.
In regards to the role, Barry has previously said: "People think it's easy bouncing around saying, 'blobby', but they should try it.
“It was exhausting and demanding.”
When did Mr Blobby work with Noel Edmonds?
Mr Blobby first appeared in 1992 in the Gotcha segment of Noel's House Party, in which celebrities were caught out in a Candid Camera style prank.
Mr Blobby was presented to the celebrities as if he were an established children's television character, in order to record an episode centred around the guests' profession.
In truth, there was no "Mr. Blobby" TV series, and he was created purely for the prank.
Mr Blobby would clumsily take part in the activity, knocking over the set, causing mayhem, and saying "blobby blobby blobby."
He was an instant hit with viewers and then became a regular feature on the show.
When did Mr Blobby release a song?
Mr Blobby was an all-round entertainer and even released his own song which topped the charts.
Simply called Mr Blobby the colourful character bagged the coveted Christmas Number One in 1993.
Despite its chart success, it has been often named as one of the worst songs ever recorded.
