Topless Joel Dommett plays football with I’m A Celeb crew hours before he was rushed to hospital after ‘freak accident’
JOEL Dommett played a topless game of football with the I’m A Celeb crew – just hours before he was rushed to hospital.
The telly star, 32, needed medical treatment after being hit on the head with a wooden sign during rehearsals for Extra Camp.
He required seven stitches after the accident, which happened during the windy weather in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
And he didn’t take part in last night’s ITV2 show alongside co-hosts Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Swash.
He said yesterday: “Unfortunately due to unforeseen windy circumstances blowing the set onto my head during rehearsals, I won’t be able to present Extra Camp this evening.
“I had seven stitches like a big brave boy and I’ll be back tomorrow.
“To be honest I’m less worried about my health and more worried that the show will be better without me.
“Half a day off school to go home and watch neighbours! Woo!”
Joel shared a selfie on his Instagram as he had his stitches.
Joel’s colleagues Scarlett and Joe continued in his absence and were joined by Megan McKenna and Andi Peters.
Extra Camp is broadcast live on ITV2 directly after the main show features all the gossip from the jungle with exclusive interviews and an insiders guide to the Bushtucker trials.
Joel first started co-hosting the show last year, and is thrilled to be back again this year.
He has said: “It was the most successful show that they’ve had for years.
“The producers were super happy with it, I was so proud of it and what we made of the show.”
