I’m A Celeb’s Anne Hegerty had secret US boyfriend but finds relationships hard due to her Asperger’s
I'M A Celebrity's Anne Hegerty once had a secret boyfriend in the United States.
The Chase star also admitted she finds relationships difficult due to her Asperger's syndrome.
In 2017, the 60-year-old quiz expert - who is known as The Governess on the TV quiz show - tweeted about a past romance.
She wrote: "I did use to have a Californian boyfriend whose mother was a DAR. Naturally he was pro-immigration!"
DAR stands for Daughters of the American Revolution - an organisation made up of women directly descended from a person involved in the United States' efforts towards independence and who works to promote patriotism.
Anne, who will tonight be seen taking on the Monstrous Monoliths bush tucker trial, is currently single.
Yesterday, the star spoke about living with Asperger's syndrome, and explained that relationships are hard because, "[I] need to have a lot of space to myself".
It comes as The Sun Online revealed that Anne is a devout Christian who will perform mass every Sunday in the camp.
The star of ITV's The Chase has even consulted a priest to discuss how she will be able to worship in the jungle.
Anne has taken a prayer book with her and a handheld fan as her luxury item.
Mark Labbett, Anne's pal of ten years and co-star on Bradley Walsh's daytime quiz show, told us: "Anne is a devout Catholic so she has been allowed to take in a prayer book.
"On Sunday, off camera, she will do her own Mass.
"She had a chat with her priest before she went out there to see what religious observances she could do in the jungle.
"Asperger's people like to plan as much as possible so they know what's coming. The unknown is doubly scary for them.
"From experience I know Anne will have everything planned on any journey she's going on."
