I’m A Celebrity’s Iain Lee reveals he feels suicidal as he withdraws from anti-depressants
I'M A Celebrity's Iain Lee has said coming off anti-depressants has left him feeling suicidal in a social media post yesterday.
The 45-year-old comedian was inundated with support from followers after saying he was in a 'f*****g dark' place and vowed to support others going though the same distressing experience.
He wrote: "Coming off anti-depressants. Sweet lord. It's hard. Harder than coming off a coke binge. Much harder. More emotional. Longer. Drawn out. So f*****g dark.
"Was in pieces last night. Suicidal. Luckily I have a good mate to talk me off the edge. But people need to know how tough these drugs are to come off. Torture. Absolute hell."
Iain received a wave of support in response to pouring his heart out on the micro-blogging site.
One wrote: "Please find the strength and focus to find the way out of your darkness. There is light. There really is."
"Sounds terrible man! I wish you nothing but peace, love, happiness and health. You're a good soul," another shared.
A fan shared some words of encouragement and wrote: "Wish you lots of love and hope that things are better. You are an amazing person."
"Hang on in there Iain," a fourth posted. "You will get to there. Big hugs Iain."
In May, the comedian-turned-talkRADIO host said he was sexually abused as a child by a Scout master and believes it led to him taking anti-depressants and even considering suicide.
Iain made the shocking revelation on Channel 5’s Me and My Mental Health documentary.
He said: "A lot of my depression comes around self-loathing, shame and guilt. How do I say this? There was a bit of sexual abuse that went on as a kid. A scout master and stuff, which kind of weighed heavily on me.
"It is the most horrendous messed-up scenario, it was humiliating and it was shameful, and I remember getting home to my mum and dad and never telling them. I never told them.

Adding: "I think it certainly played a part in my depression, what happened to me at the age of eight. I can see that as the starting point for it. Because up until then the memories I do have are generally quite happy."
"Now I feel embarrassed and ashamed talking about it, it was 35 years ago."
The dad-of-two appeared on last year's I'm A Celebrity finalist and has candidly shared his mental health battle ever since in a bid to reverse the stigma.
