THE X Factor has been left in jeopardy as the house is plagued by flu and the singers have been forced to take voice rest.
The contestants are due to take to the stage tomorrow for the live shows but are currently unable to speak, let alone practise their important performances.
An insider told The Sun Online: “Flu has swept through the house and the majority of contestants are now ill. They’re all on vocal rest and can’t rehearse at all.
“Everyone’s terrified they won’t be able to perform on Saturday. It’s so tense backstage as they’re not allowed to sing a note but everyone’s desperate to practice for the weekend’s show.”
They added: “They all know this weekend is incredibly important in the competition so it’s the worst timing for them all to fall ill.”
There are currently eight contestants remaining in the singing show – Bella Penfold, Scarlett Lee, Shan, A Star, Brendan Murray, Dalton Harris, Anthony Russell and Danny Tetley.
